February at Sarah Reimer Designs

Is February seriously over already?  Anyone else feeling like that month just evaporated out of thin air?  We even got one extra day with it being a leap year, and I still am stumped at where this month went.  It was a busy month for me.  I have been getting a lot more hours teaching here at the school (which is great, but I do end up getting less done for the shop), which I think makes time go even faster.

Speaking of months seeming to slip away from us, I've decided a good way to keep on track of what's actually going on here (and to inform you guys of new items!), I've decided to do a wrap-up post at the end of each month, showing all the new products that were listed at Sarah Reimer Designs and giving a little more detail about these products and what is to come.  At the end of last month, I wrote about the power of making creative goals.  One exciting thing about goal setting is being able to look back and see what has been accomplished.  It can sometimes be the encouragement we need to keep truckin.

So, let's see what February brought...

February was Photography Month here in Chiang Mai.  I started this month extremely pumped about getting involved.  I attended a couple exhibitions around the city, and also took part in a photo competition for the first week.  I think that may have reflected my first two listings of the month:

Brick Lane Photography printed on canvas. Click here to read more.
Garden Photography printed on canvas. Click here to see more info.
Next creation: Using handmade Mulberry paper (made here in Thailand), and taking some inspiration from the outdoors, I created a set of three hand drawn wilderness thank you cards, complete with recycled envelopes.  These have yet to sell, and I'm not sure why they haven't yet because they turned out so good!  The texture of this paper is beautiful, the design is simple, and they are completely eco friendly.  Click the link in the caption for more information or if you are interested in purchasing a set!

Set of three for $9.00 CAD. Click here for more information.
This next one is a result of me becoming an official goal setting nerd.  To record my weekly goals, in a way that I thought made sense and was simple, I designed this goal setting calendar.  I listed the months of February, March and April in my shop as instant downloads for $3.00.  I was excited to be contacted by a photographer/lifestyle blogger through an instagram post about this calendar.  She is currently testing these out, and sometime in the near-ish future, I'll be able to see her feedback.  I'm really excited to have made this connection with her and to see what she comes up with!

You may have read about my trip to the "junk market"?  Well, I picked up a few old things and turned them into beautiful new creations.  :)

Wilderness Plate looks awesome with my "Wild and Free" travel postcard.

"Start where you are, Use what you have, Do what you can." Stamped quote on hand made mulberry paper with frayed edges.  View online Etsy listing here.

Lastly, I have always loved this quote.  Looking back, I often found I was holding myself back because I didn't think I had the money, resources, the time... whatever it was... there was always something I could find that was holding me back!  This quote sort of became my creative mantra.  To stop worrying about all the details that I may be missing along the way.  To stop thinking about "if only I had access to...." and to work with what I have!  I constantly surprise myself what I can do when I simply just start where I am, with what I have, doing what I can.
